Positioned high on the hilltop overlooking Anantara Layan and with 180 degree panoramic views across the ocean, the location on Phuket’s west coast is enough to make you want to quit your job and move to this tropical corner of the world as soon as possible. That’s certainly how we felt, and this was before we were even aware of the indulgent and exclusive perks available to guests who stay in one of these opulent Residences.
There are 15 private houses, all with large infinity pools offering absolute privacy and luxury. Guests can choose to stay in a 3,4, 5 or 7 bedroom abode, with sizes ranging from 1800m2 to 2200m2, making the houses some of the most spacious in Thailand.
The interior consists of deluxe bedrooms with spacious en-suites, living spaces enhanced by high vaulted ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the interior with light and sweeping view of Layan Beach. The Residences also have media entertainment and spa rooms, and accommodation for live-in chefs and butlers… as you do.
The design has, of course, been meticulously thought out – blending contemporary style with classic Asian design, with careful focus on the outside entertaining area, ideal for Phuket’s warm climate. The 21 metre infinity pool is the colour of tropical holidays and is undoubtedly the jewel in the Residences’ crown.
The development, which was only unveiled in November 2015, has already received multiple awards for its absolute beauty, including a Best Residential Interior Design award in the South East Asia Property Awards, and in our opinion it is wholeheartedly deserved – it is without a doubt the most impressive and unique accommodation option we have seen.
For those wanting to purchase one of these beauties (yes, they’re for sale!), they start at a cool USD $6 million, which, after experiencing the absolute level of luxury these houses offer, I have to agree is a pretty fair price tag.
Guests of The Residences have access to all the facilities offered at Anantara Layan resort, including its restaurants and spa, and to top it all off also have access to the resort’s magnificent motor yacht, Major Affair for luxury day trips or longer cruises.
